American nutritionist Lauren Harris-Pinkus named a dried fruit that helps maintain bone health, reports Eat This, Not That.


With age, bones are erased faster than they are restored, which increases the risk of osteoporosis.


However, it is still possible to slow down the rate of bone loss if certain preventive measures are taken.


"Prunes are a source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin K and polyphenols, which have been shown to support bone health by increasing bone mineral density and reducing bone loss," Harris–Pinkus said.
